DEAKIN (2) can be a big improver second-up. He was quite well supported at his Australian debut over 1600m at Ballarat but that trip was always going to be on the sharp side given he's a stayer. He ran well without the best of luck there and naturally looks well placed to 2000m in a similar race. SABAN (7) hasn't quite gone on with his good fresh win but was close up at Caulfield last time and a bigger track here suits. Where he gets to from the wide draw is the query. RUAKAKA RAIDER (8) was beaten when hard in the market at Ballarat, tracking a strong pace when just fair late. He won two in a row prior and could bounce back. ACTAEON (10) next best.
