THE JANITOR (1) is a progressive gelding who overcame a second row draw for a resuming win. Kept fresh since but has won a trial in that time and has won three of four tries at this circuit and distance. The inside draw will see him tough to stop. RIPP (10) did a great job to win at Menangle in his first outing for 17 months, pushing forward to lead before scoring by 5.3m. Tricky draw but he should be improved. DEUS EX NZ (8) has been tackling good opposition of late and came from this barrier when placed three back.
