ICARO (3) was good here two back behind a smart winner before a sound effort at Pakenham, working home late to grab third. Stays at 1600m again but should be hard to hold out if they run along out in front. JENNI BASSETT (10) is another knocking on the door, just missing on heavy ground at Geelong last time. Drawn wide here but can roll forward and give a sight. WOLFOFFITROYSTREET (8) has run third in both starts to date, solid here last time out in a small field. Better again and can atone. MELEK (5) is a St Jean gelding on debut, wary with Williams booked for the Maher yard despite a wide gate.
