Tough FERAGO (2) progressed nicely last time out to finish just half a length from the winner over 3762m at Geelong. This fellow has raced well in Stakes grade and carries 1.5kg less. Will be given every chance from a soft barrier. SPLIT (6) is a lot better than the form line suggests. Races forward and is well seasoned. Has an inside gate and is in an astute barn. Should be right in it on an 8-day return. SALSITA (8) has been mixing distances and is going well enough. Was close up over 4000m two back, so should run it out. Maps to advantage, and the winkers come off. FARAG (1) won over 3762m at Geelong as expected. Won this race last year and carries 1kg less. Primed and is a decent chance to repeat. GUIDO (5) won easily over 4000m at Ararat and on that effort can't be ruled out.
