ROSSO (11) is an ex-Victorian gelding who was an impressive Ashburton winner fresh up, and then was fourth as the favourite here last week, grinding away to the line. The extra 600m is the key, and with less weight to carry, he is the one to beat. BOOMTOWN BOY (4) ran on too late over an unsuitable mile at Trentham 4 weeks ago on a track that was heavier than he likes. All of his 3 career wins have been on this track, and he cannot be taken lightly. STOLEN MAGIC (3) stuck to her task gamely when finishing third as the favourite at Wingatui 11 days ago. She is probably better with some cut in the track, but the extra 400m won't be a problem. Include in all combinations. STEAL MY THUNDER (9) was an easy winner on Wednesday. A chance again if she backs up.
