CARDIGAN DAN (7) hasn't raced since copping severe interference as favourite in the G1 Protostar in Brisbane in July. Showed good ability in winning his other two starts and was readied with an easy trial win. Draws wide but is good enough to overcome that for a winning return. SOHO PARK AVENUE (5) is flying having completed a winning hat trick by leading from a similar draw to this to land the Shakamaker Classic by 1.7m at Melton last start. Won the only time he raced here and has the fitness edge on the top pick so may not be easy to beat. LOWRIDER (4) made the ideal start to his career when leading from a couple of spots wider to score by more than 6m at Melton. This is stronger but he has upside. EYENEEDTHAT (6) is another up in grade and draws wide but is hard to knock having won both starts this time in.
