USYK (5) has had a month off since fading out as a hot favourite last start but was going very well prior with three successive wins, one of them in the Youthful Stakes at Melton. Has the speed to push forward from this barrier. Strong claims. SHORELINE DREAM (10) kicked off the campaign with a win in SA before manners let him down last start. Has trialled since. Cops a second row draw but hails from a yard that is always tough to stop in this series. LE CARDINAL (4) did a good job to come from a back row draw for a 1.7m second on debut at Bendigo. This is tougher but draws better and is open to improvement. MAJOR BLITZ (1) gets the ace draw and is going well, taking his strike rate to 50 per cent by scoring from the back row last start.
