The G1 Caulfield Guineas brings plenty of intertwining form lines, the best of which is typically the Golden Rose. AUTUMN BOY (9) started $4.40 there but just got too far back on a very fast Rosehill deck where coming wide and looping them was very hard to do. Fancy he was just outpaced there over 1400m where everything he's done to date suggests 1600m and further will be when we see the best of him. He'll need a touch of luck from the inside gate but if he gets it, he'll go close. WODETON (2) had the rails run in the Golden Rose and ran very well for second. J-Mac rides, 1600m should be fine for him and he'll be very hard to beat. Respecting NAVY PILOT (8) who drove hard to win at Sandown last time. He can improve again to this trip from a soft draw. RIVELLINO (1) comes through all the right races and is bred to run this trip. His Golden Rose run was similar to Autum Boy's, beating him home in doing so. OBSERVER (16) is the blowout off completely different form.
