Tributes flow after Johnathan Parkes' passing

Johnathan Parkes is being remembered today as one of New Zealand's finest jockeys.
New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing led the tributes to Parkes after his passing overnight.
"NZTR is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of highly respected jockey Johnathan Parkes overnight. Our thoughts are with Johnathan’s closest family and friends at this time.
"Johnathan was one of our best, riding over 1,000 winners in New Zealand. Parkes won 62 black type races including 12 Group 1s."
Parkes rode I Wish I Win to a debut victory in March 2021 at Awapuni.
It was an impressive race by the pair, they were backed from the outset to win and didn't disappoint storming to victory.
