With feature racing just around the corner, some quality fillies are out and about under the Friday Night Lights of Addington on their way to bigger Spring tests.
Stepping out for three public trial appearances, and proving successful on all occasions to date, this two-year-old has certainly created a good impression ahead of her debut.
By the ‘buzz’ stallion of the moment in Downbytheseaside, Steven Reid looks to have his hands on another nice juvenile alongside early season star Jumal.
Each trial has been run a little differently, she has been well educated and looks to have a professional attitude which goes a long way in baby races. The most recent trial saw her balanced up early before leading and running very solid time.
She has barrier draw advantage over her major market rivals in Ringleader and the well tried Zeus Lightning which should see her settle in a prominent position.
Tested against the finest of her division when taking on the best three-year-old fillies in the North at the end of last prep, One For Jay looks to have found a winnable first up assignment.
Only lightly raced to date with nine career starts, she has shown obvious ability in winning three and placing on a further two occasions.
She has been very impressive in two trial outings ahead of her return, extending smartly in each behind the likes of Irish Dream and Triple G, who she meets better off at the draws here.
The two gate looks perfect and she’s shown good versatility to date which gives Kimberly Butt many options.
The Stonewall juggernaut continues to roll on and this filly can add to their tally in Addington’s closer.
Unlucky on debut for the stable when held up, she took luck out of the equation last time out when firing to the lead and dominating. Not only did she dominate by an ever widening eight length margin, but she was also strong through the line in the 2.24.6 time recorded. (Click here to watch the race replay)
Now at start five, she has the ringcraft to be put into the contest. Should she find the lead once more, she looks extremely hard to get by and may be bound for bigger and better contests over Spring.
