Roso chooses them straight up on a Tuesday
Big Time Vanilla is a straight track specialist and has won three of his last five races at Whanganui on the straight track. He runs today in Race 2. Photo Credit: Wanganui GRC
2 Pure Precision
Powered home to win on debut over 520m. This is very different but her ability is obvious. 4 Blitz Attack led for a long way in that same race so the shorter trip should suit.
Selections: 2-4-1-3
4 Big Time Vanilla
Won the corresponding race last week after being narrowly beaten by 6 Reckless Eric six days earlier. Has paid a dividend in his last 11 outings. 3 Churn It Up looks well placed in this at generous odds.
Selections: 4-8-3-6
2 Sugar Sugar
Game third over 520m on Friday behind two quality chasers. Mixed results down the straight but she finds the right field. 6 Appleby Road won in this class a week ago so is a quaddie must.
Selections: 2-6-5-3
3 Hanoi
Claimed her fourth consecutive win at Hatrick on Friday & gets a bonus run in the grade. Was hassled by another runner for most of the way in her only start down the straight. 2 Stolen Sapphire hasn't raced for over a year but trialled well enough here last month & is from a litter that excels down the straight.
Selections: 3-2-7-4
8 Loveable Rogue
Is the benchmark down the straight having not finished out of the money in 32 starts here. 2 Mario Wave trialled here last Monday in a time that nearly matched Rogue's race. Won his last start but was suspended for turning his head near the line.
Selections: 8-2-1-6
4 Pushing Buttons
Unbeaten in three starts here & was impressive beating some c3 greyhounds home when winning over 520m on Friday. 8 Double Cash wasn't right here two starts back but won at Cambridge after a three week break.
Selections: 4-8-1-7
2 Cliff Top Vinnie
Had his chance on Friday when a fair third. Has disappointed down the straight a time or two more recently but he looks to have found the right field.
Selections: 2-6-7-8
5 Big Time Nico
Good finish last week carried him into second past 2 Abbey Road who beat him the time before. Both are specialists here so might provide the quinella.
Selections: 5-2-7-3
7 Grasscutter Moe
Placed in all four starts on this surface. Slow starts don't help her but she should be running past all her rivals today. 2 Swift Shadow downgrades & has early pace.
Selections: 7-2-8-6
4 Side Swipe
Doesn't win often but on current form she should be saluting in this field. 7 Chip's Revenge resumes after not firing as a short-priced favourite in August. Worth keeping safe on a quadrella ticket.
Selections: 4-7-3-5
Best: Cliff Top Vinnie
Next: Sugar Sugar
Value: Big Time Nico
