2 Mojito Dreams
Got tangled up in traffic mid-race on Friday. Prior seconds including one here suggest that he should quit maiden ranks today.
Selections: 2-3-6-4
6 First Arrive
Has taken money at times including on this track a fortnight ago. Wears blinkers & is a work in progress but she might not get an easier chance. Need a few in the first leg of the quadrella though.
Selections: 6-7-5-4
8 Drive Angry
Resuming from a long layoff but trialed well here on July 15 & he runs this track as well as any in this field. 3 Big Time Iggy downed a weak field on Friday. Pushed a promising dog here the time before. Each way.
Selections: 8-3-2-6
4 Big Time Moony
Beat a similar field from the front a fortnight ago. Needs a decent break on them again to hold out a few of these.
Selections: 4-6-3-5
6 Big Time Martin
Ran the same time as the straight track benchmark Loveable Rogue when winning in the middle of the month. 5 Mario Wave & 4 Big Time Talea are talented straight trackers coming in fresh. Keep both safe in the quaddie.
Selections: 6-5-4-3
8 Kookaburra Bob
Decent drop in class for a dog that finishes strongly down the straight. 3 Keep On Dreaming is up in class after his maiden debut win. Will have to lift to remain unbeaten.
Selections: 8-3-4-2
5 Big Time Theo
Beat some c4s & a c5 when winning over 520m at Hatrick on Friday. Runs the straight well too. 2 Big Time Clarke is yet to win here but went close a fortnight ago & continues to offer juicy each way odds despite winning on Friday night.
Selections: 5-2-8-6
8 Star Boy Express
Well placed in this after finishing third in a strong restricted age race here mid-month. Solid third behind a group one winner at Manawatu since.
Selections: 8-3-7-5
7 Loveable Rogue
Seeking six straight & it's hard to make a case against him despite the talent on show in the field.
Selections: 7-6-2-5
2 Hawkes Bay Half
Looked lost under lights for the first time on Friday when he charged into traffic after a slow start. Unbeaten in three down the straight. Should make it four with 4 Chef's Mate looking the only genuine danger.
Selections: 2-4-5-8
7 Rockin ' Roger
Rocked to a predictable maiden win on debut. Meets a moderate c1 field so should go on with it.
Selections: 7-8-6-5
3 Not Okay
Pushed a promising chaser despite a slow start on Friday. Has won both his races here although in moderate times. 5 Cliff Top Cutie was unlucky on Friday. Should make the podium in this field.
Selections: 3-5-7-8
Best: Hawkes Bay Half
Next: Kookaburra Bob
Value: Big Time Clarke
